Morpheus8
At Ithaca Medical Aesthetics your provider will use the most innovative and advanced techniques during your Morpheus8 procedure to give you dramatic results with just one treatment.

WHAT IS MORPHEUS8?
Morpheus8 (M8) is a minimally-invasive fractional skin treatment which delivers radio-frequency energy at a variety of subdermal depths through gold-coated microneedles located at the tip of the headpiece.
The radio-frequency heat also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, tightening the fibroseptal network. This results in firmer, more youthful-looking skin.
Morpheus8 can be combined with PRP therapy for optimal results!

Patient Questions
Commonly Asked Questions about Morpheus8
What’s the difference between surgical blepharoplasty and Morpheus8 eye bag tightening?
Surgical blepharoplasty is excellent for correcting moderate to severe loose eyelid skin and puffy eyelids. It is still the “gold standard”, however, for patients who are ready to go under the knife, Morpheus8 is a new innovative way of tightening loose skin and acts as an impressive alternative to surgery, allowing a gentle correction of moderate loose skin.
The treatment can tighten the skin under your eyes, helping to lift it and reduce bags. It can also make the skin in this area a bit thicker, reducing both bags and dark circles. For eyelid lifts, 3-4 sessions performed every 3-6 weeks may be required, making it the perfect solution for people who want a gradual, scarless correction.
What is the downtime?
Morpheus8 is done as an outpatient treatment, so you can go home right after the procedure. Following treatment the eyelids might swell temporarily, but they settle within 48-72 hours. You may need to use oral anti-inflammatory medication. If redness occurs, it can take from 4 – 21 days to disappear. It is important not to scratch, pick or rub the area treated as a pinkish skin discoloration or hypo/hyperpigmentation could persist. You will be required to use a specialised serum rich in growth factors twice a day for 4 weeks to accelerate the healing process. SPF50 must also be applied twice a day on the treated area to protect the skin.

Am I suitable for Morpheus8?
You should not have this treatment if you have a pacemaker, internal defibrillator or any electronic implant such as a glucose monitor, a permanent implant in the treated area, such as metal plates and screws, silicone implants or an injected chemical substance. It is not suitable for those with a history of diseases stimulated by heat, such as recurrent Herpes Simplex in the treated area, any active conditions such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, rashes or recently / excessively tanned skin. If you have had filler in the last 6 months, botox in the last 2 weeks or are pregnant, you should avoid this treatment.
HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks more noticeable results begin to appear. Improvements continue for 3-6 months after the treatment.
Can Anyone Use Morpheus8?
The benefit of Morpheus8’s color blind technology is that it can be used on all skin types. The unique properties allow even darker tones to be treated.
Can Morpheus8 Be Used In Combination With Other Treatments?
Yes, Morpheus8 can be used in the same treatment session, or a few days after other treatments. Morpheus8 can also be combined with other lnMode energy treatments or injectables to achieve more extensive results.

MORPHEUS FOR THE EYES
BEFORE AND AFTER TREATMENT

CAAE STUDY
Notice how the under eye area has been repositioned closer to the lash line for a brightened and rejuvenated effect with smoother undereyes. No filler or chemical toxin has been used here, purely radiofrequency and microneedling in the form of Morpheus 8 Prime Tip.
Brows are repositioned to create a brow lift, which helps to open the eyes up for a youthful, wide-awake look. The skin on the eyelids was also treated which has in turn tightened and lifted the skin.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A MORPHEUS8 PROCEDURE?
The Morpheus8 handheld device works by “stamping” the skin with the microneedles in order to remodel deep layers of the skin. During the treatment you will feel heat and pressure on the treatment area. Different levels of energy can be used to address different aesthetic concerns. Because there Morpheus8 doesn’t use incisions, there is no scarring left behind. Every patient is different, but on average, 1-3 Morpheus8 sessions may be needed to achieve the desired results.

DOWNTIME AND RECOVERY
Recovery and downtime are greatly dependent on the individual, intensity of treatment, and areas treated.
However, most patients resume their normal activities within 3-5 days following an M8 treatment
Sun exposure should be avoided to protect the newly resurfaced skin.
What to Expect the day of...
A Morpheus 8 treatment takes approximately 1 hour.
You will be asked to arrive 45 minutes early to allow time for numbing of the area. We use a topical numbing cream to numb the area and minimize discomfort. Other pain-control options are available including Pro-Nox and Mesoram.
Pro-Nox is a patient-controlled inhaled analgesia system that delivers a 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide mixture for the relief of pain and anxiety. The effects of Pro-Nox wear off in 10-15 minutes allowing patients to resume normal activity right away including driving.
Mesoram is a multi-needle injection that delivers small amounts of lidocaine to the treatment area. Mesoram is ideal for Morpheus8 treatments as it numbs at varying depths below the skin and as the skin surface.
Following treatment, skin may be slightly red, similar to a mild sunburn. Redness should subside within the first 24 hours following treatment. Expect up to 3 days of social downtime. While improvement is noticeable after 1 treatment, to achieve optimal effect, 3-4 treatments are typically recommended.
