Ways To Prevent And Treat Crows Feet

Unfortunately, there are few ways to avoid crows Feet. Sunglasses help decrease our need for squinting. Also, giving our eyes a break when squinting at your phone and computer screens can help.

However, when you smile, the crow feet will reappear. So, the answer is.... relax the muscles that cause the crows feet!

Treating Crows Feet Naturally

Treating crows feet involves analyzing the muscles that cause those lines. Each person utilizes these muscles differently and the same injection approach can not be used on every patient. During your examination and consultation, we will carefully study your muscle movements and create a plan utilizing our micro dosing injection technique to create the most natural look for you.

It is important to note that even though crows feet refers to wrinkles around the eyes, injection of Botox®, Dysport® or Xeomin® into these muscle does NOT affect the vision or harm the actual eyes! The actual visual apparatus is located inside the orbital socket behind the bones approaching the visual cortex .

How to Avoid Crows Feet

Other ways to avoid crows feet is to use a good sunscreen, hats and protective gear since UV rays can accelerate the aging process.

However, the most important technique to avoid crows feet from getting too deep and causing permanent damage on the overlying skin, is to inject them at the very sign of their appearance.

What to expect with treatment:

Exam:

Prior to Botox® treatment, we evaluate your anatomy and movement with you relaxed and then making facial expressions, including smiling. We will determine the proper location and dose for the Botox® injections.

Injections:

Botox® injections may feel like a tiny pinch, but are not generally considered painful.

The injections take about 1 minute to perform.

Recovery:

As with other Botox® treatments, there is no significant recovery time after treatment. You may have a tiny red bump, like a mosquito bite. This generally goes away within minutes. Rarely, a small bruise may occur.

We recommend not lying down, exercising or touching the treated area for 4 hours after Botox® injections.

Results:

As with other Botox® injections, results come on gradually and usually are apparent in 3-4 days with maximum effect in 7-14 days.

Botox®, Dysport®  Xeomin®  last on average 3-4 months, so to maintain results, you will need to come in for touch-ups a few times a year.
